Experience
Leading the work that moves a business forward
My experience spans marketing leadership in B2B technology companies and running businesses as an owner. I've helped translate company strategy into a different buyer experience, bring acquired businesses together under a platform brand, and organize marketing around better commercial opportunities.
These examples show the outcomes, the choices behind them, and my contribution—from setting priorities and building teams to working directly on the material that reaches customers, partners, and analysts.
Sitecore: Supporting $120M+ in ARR growth through digital transformation
Digital marketing leadership
I led a $1M digital transformation that contributed to a broader company transformation during which Sitecore added at least $120M in ARR, reaching approximately $300M by my departure.
Sitecore was expanding its focus from developers to marketing buyers. Our customer and partner research highlighted a different need: marketers wanted to see what they could create, alongside understanding how the software worked. The website needed to make those possibilities tangible and demonstrate the value of Sitecore's own technology.
I led the team that translated those insights into content and experience requirements across seven web properties. Working with partner agencies, we rebuilt sitecore.com on the latest platform, emphasizing creative experiences and examples of what customers could achieve.
I brought together developers, SEO, editorial, design, and analytics, keeping the work aligned with the company's direction and managing the project budget and schedule. We subsequently turned the implementation into campaigns and conference presentations, making the project useful as sales proof as well as a buyer experience.
Whole-site conversion increased by more than 25%, while traffic also grew.
Emplifi: Bringing five companies together under a $135M ARR platform brand
VP of Brand and Digital
I led brand and digital work that helped bring five businesses together under one platform brand as Emplifi reached $135M in company ARR, while sustaining pipeline volume and value.
We began with Socialbakers, Astute Solutions, and iPerceptions, later adding goInstore and Pixlee Turn-to. The opportunity was to connect their capabilities around a shared idea: social engagement as a window into customer relationships across marketing, commerce, and care.
That story mattered to executives. Immediate demand also came from functional teams buying individual products. I focused our brand and campaigns on making the platform meaningful to executive buyers while preserving relevance to those teams.
I led the initial digital launch, bringing the first three businesses together on a new website in ten weeks, alongside content migration, launch campaigns, and analytics. I also rebuilt the team across design, content, development, and measurement, eventually managing 15 people.
In regional campaigns, we translated the platform idea into each persona's concerns. For social marketers, the message moved beyond product capabilities to the difference between engaged fans and the wider conversation about their brand. We combined direct response with targeted display and paid editorial placements to carry that message.
The result was a coherent market presence supporting both the platform story and demand for its products.
Platform9: Building credible pipeline and analyst recognition
SVP Marketing
I aligned Marketing around better customer opportunities and led the analyst program that earned Platform9 recognition as a Major Player with IDC and a Visionary with Gartner.
I brought a fragmented marketing team together around a researched ideal customer profile, buyer personas, and messaging. Working with Sales, the focus was on opportunities supported by meaningful qualification and a realistic path to close, grounded in the product's capabilities.
Pipeline analysis also revealed an opportunity among cloud service providers. I shifted event priorities and budget to address their buying timetable and worked with the Chief Growth Officer and Partner team to develop the offering.
I directed the analyst program across Product, Sales, Finance, Growth, and Product Marketing. I hired the analyst relations firm, established objectives for each engagement, and kept the work aligned with our market strategy. I also stayed close to the deliverables, editing submissions, reviewing briefing presentations, and approving demos.
This work strengthened how we presented the company's vision and capabilities to the market, alongside a more focused approach to the customers we could serve.
Experience as a business owner
Owning and operating businesses gave me direct responsibility for finding customers, developing offerings, and making the economics work.
Mains Associates — Diversifying the client base. As Managing Director and co-owner, I helped extend the firm's life sciences expertise into technology commercialization and new client relationships. NASA's share of revenue moved from roughly 90% to approximately half, growing revenue to $3M.
Velo Veneto — Creating a new revenue stream. As a Partner responsible for marketing and sales, I created a B2B offering for product launches and press events using guides and resources outside the usual touring season. Over about two years, it added approximately 40% in annual revenue relative to the previous baseline. By my exit in 2017, we had grown from a single location to destinations across 6 countries.
